13 February 2006

Hetauda Cement Industry Limited (HCIL) in Nepal has resumed production from Saturday. One of the largest cement factories in Nepal, HCIL had shut down its production since January 23 "to repair production plant." "Now that the production plant has been repaired production resumes," said Ramesh Aryal, the General Manager of HCIL. He also added that though the production was stalled for 20 days, there was no scarcity of cement in the local market as the factory had a stock of 200 thousand bags of cement in its store before the plant was shut down.  It produces 15 thousand bags of cement worth Rs 800 thousand per day.
