Lafarge North America, Inc. has recently contracted with Loesche America, Inc. to install five classifiers on the existing Raymond mills located at their Alpena, Michigan Plant. The project is in alignment with the Lafarge goal of increasing capacity and fineness. The plant has existing five kilns currently equipped with five independently fed direct firing systems. Initially, two LSKS30D and one LSKS25D dynamic classifiers will be installed on Raymond 773 and 613 mills, respectively. In a second phase of this project, Lafarge will have an option to add two LSKS25D dynamic classifiers to the remaining Raymond 613 mills. These dynamic classifiers will allow the plant to considerably improve product fineness resulting in an increase in the overall efficiency of the plant.
Loesche America, Inc., of Pembroke Pines, Florida, is a subsidiary of Loesche GmbH, located in Düsseldorf, Germany. The company is an international market leader in vertical roller mills used for dry grinding in the coal, cement, lime, minerals and utilities industries.
