India’s Aditya Birla Group said the combined cement sales of two companies in the group, Grasim Industries Ltd and Ultratech Cement Ltd, in September fell 4.1 per cent on the year to 1.96Mt. 
 
Aditya Birla said the combined cement production at the two companies in September fell 0.3 per cent on the year to 1.99Mt.
 
In the first six months - April through September of the current financial year - the cement sales of the two companies rose to 13.33Mt, up 8.0% from 12.33Mt a year ago. Production rose 8.6% to 13.40Mt from 12.33Mt.
