After cement sold under the Birla name, it is time for the Bangurs to put their name on their own cement as well. The BG-HM Bangur group is planning to make inroads into the high end cement mart with Bangur brand.
 
The joint managing director of Shree Cement, HM Bangur told Business Standard that the company is optimistic to launch ’Bangur Cement’, the premium quality cement from the group by the first week of December. According to Bangur, the new premium brand will be manufactured in its new plant at Pali in Rajasthan.
 
He also added: "The work on the 1.2Mt capacity new cement project ’Bangur Cement’ is nearing completion. The new project is at a distance of approx 32km from the existing plant site and offers significant synergy in terms of operational efficiency, management and control and cost optimisation. The project will be amongst most modern cement plants in India and would produce high quality cement at economical cost," he said. Shree Cement currently has capacity of 3Mta.
