SDC has to communicate its decision within one month. It can approve the deal or submit it to Spanish competition court, which in turn has to decide whether the deal is legal within two months.
Ceminter, based in the southern Andalusia region, specialises in the production and imports of cement. It has the capacity to make and sell one million tonnes of cement a year. Ceminter has a factory in Madrid and distribution centres in Gijon, Valladolid, Almeria and Motril.
