Saudi cement producer Saudi Cement Company (SCC) has signed an agreement to import 500,000t of clinker, used for cement production, local media reports. The move is aimed at increasing SCC’s supply to the local market in order to meet the increasing demand and curb the shortage of cement which started a few months ago, SCC’s board chairman, Waleed Ahmad al-Juffali, said. The first 62,000t under the agreement arrived at the King Abdul Aziz port in Dammam, eastern Saudi Arabia, on July 3, 2005. Published under Cement News
