Cimpor Brasil, the Brazilian unit of Portugal’s cement producer Cimpor, is expected to register a 138 per cent YoY increase in its exports to African countries in 2005, it was reported on June 17, 2005.
 
The total exports of the company are projected to round 200,000 tonnes in 2005. In comparison, Cimpor Brasil has an annual production capacity of 6.3Mt of cement. 
 
Cimpor Brasil exported some 58,000t of cement in the five-month period since the beginning of 2005, the Latin America News Digest reported on June 16, 2004. The company’s exports totalled 84,000t in 2004.
