Cementos Portland Valderrivas, the cement division of Spanish construction and services group FCC, has expanded its US activities with the inauguration of a new $132m line at its giant Cement operation in Harleyville, South Carolina. The company has three production facilities in the US.  The new plant replaces an existing, outdated facility while energy consumption has been reduced by about 50 per cent. Cementos Portland Valderrivas has invested $650m in the US market in the past six years.
