FLSmidth wins two Iranian cement contracts

FLSmidth has signed a contract to supply a new cement production line to Karoon Cement Company based 500km southwest of the Iranian capital of Tehran. The new 3500tpd production line has a contractual value of some EUR 24m. This is the first time FLSmidth is to supply production equipment to Karoon Cement Company which is owned by MT Alaghbandian, an industrial conglomerate which operates three more Iranian cement plants.
 
The production line is expected to be operational by early 2008, and the scope of the order comprises the main key machinery ranging from an ATOX 42.5 raw grinding mill and an OK cement grinding mill to a complete ILC pyroprocessing system incorporating preheater, ROTAX 2 kiln and an SF Cross-Bar cooler. In addition, the contract includes a crushing plant, a circular storage and automation equipment.
 
During the negotiating process, the customer liaised with Iran Industrial Design (IID), a consultancy firm which has experience with FLSmidth from previous projects.
 
FLSmidth has also won an order worth Euro 12m from Bojnourd Cement Company which is part of the Fars & Khuzestan Group, Iran’s leading cement producer. This order comprises key equipment for a new 3500tpd production line. The equipment is due to be delivered in 2006.
