Mykolaivtsement Reduces Cement Production

In March, the Mykolaivtsement company (Mykolaiv, Lviv region, Ukraine), a large producer of cement, reduced cement production by 16.7 per cent or 10,800t compared with March 2004, to 53,900t   According to a company statement, in March the company increased clinker production by 32.1 per cent or 17,000t compared with March 2004, to 70,000t.   In January-March 2005, the company increased cement production by 5.2 per cent or 6,700t compared with January-March 2004, to 136,200t.  

Mykolaivtsement possesses six small and two large kilns for the production of cement with a total projected output of 3Mt annually.  Besides cement production, Mykolaivtsement is engaged in production of paving slab, face slabs, concrete, cube and other building materials. According to data of the Agency for Development of the Stock Market’s Infrastructure, 99.26 per cent of the stock in Mykolaivtsement belongs to Lafarge.
