Ukrainian cement plant Balcem, formerly known as Balakleyski cement, produced a total of 146,000t of cement in January to February 2005. Balcem ranked second in terms of cement production in Ukraine for January and February 2005 with 146,000t, after Podolsky, which produced 173,000t of cement in the period.  The total cement output in Ukraine stood at some 1.02Mt in the first two months of 2005, up 16.3 per cent year-on-year.   In February 2005 alone, Balcem produced some 76,900t of cement, up 0.8 per cent year-on-year. The company reported clinker output of some 81,800t for February 2005, a 20.4 per cent year-on-year increase.  Balcem cement output rose by 16.5 per cent year-on-year to some 1.8Mt in 2004. The company seeks to raise its cement production to some 2.3Mt in 2005.
