The Dadabhoy Group is poised to set up two new cement plants at a cost of Rs2.30 billion with Chinese cooperation at Nooriabad industrial area of Karachi. Of the two upcoming plants, one producing gray cement 3000tpd will go into production in the next four years at the cost of Rs2bn while the other one producing white cement at 500tpd will cost Rs300m. A director of the Group, Fazal Karim Dadabhoy told local news sources that Pakistan would be exporting an additional 60,000 tons of cement to the Middle East in the next month, which would take total cement export shipments from Pakistan to over 200,000 tons per month.
