CCI union to take part in strike
08 October 2004

The Cement Corporation of India Employees Union, Adilabad, would participate in the strike on November 19 called by the All India Cement Workers’ Federation. A workers’ convention would be held in New Delhi on that day in order to press the Union Government to concede the demands of the cement workers. At the `gate meeting’ held at the CCI factory here on Thursday, the CCIEU general secretary, S. Vilas, said the main demand was for institution of a national cement workers wage board. The other demands include release of interim relief of Rs. 1,500, release of overdue salaries and holding of discussions on the charter of demands submitted on March 1, 2004, in order to arrive at a solution to the problems.
