Saudi Yamama Cement To Add Cement Mill

Saudi cement producer Yamama Cement Company (YCC) will put into operation an additional cement mill from the end of October 2004, the company said on September 22, 2004.

The cement mill will raise YCC’s daily capacity to 15,000 tonnes from the current 10,000t. YCC’s managing director Prince Sultan bin Mohammed bin Saud al-Kabir has recently visited Germany to meet with an unnamed contractor for the project. No financial details were available.

YCC registered an 86 per cent YoY increase in net profit to 346.5 mln riyals (US$92.4m) for the first half of 2004.
