HeidelbergCement to build plant in Kyiv, Ukraine

HeidelbergCement is to build a ready-mix concrete plant in Kyiv according to the company’s main operations director of the northern region of the Central Europe, chairperson of the supervisory board of the Kryvyi Rih Cement and Dniprotsement Andrzej Balcerek

"We plan to build a concrete plant in Kyiv. We already have a right for land, we know what equipment needs to be installed, and are only waiting for mayor’s permission for construction," he said.

The company plans to build a plant with capacity of 100,000Mm3 of concrete annually with the cement terminal.

Balcerek added that the company will build a plant within three months after it gets permission for construction. "It will take three months to issue of the first production after we obtain permission," he said.

HeidelbergCement has already created the company Kryvbasbeton, which will run the plant and implement the project of construction and sale of commercial cement in Ukraine. "Kryvbasbeton will be responsible for creation of this business," he said.

HeidelbergCement owns 99.9% in Dniprotsement (Dniprodzerzhynsk, Dnipropetrovsk region) and 84.6% stake in Kryvyi Rih Cement (Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region).
