Syrian Rastan registers US$4.8m sales Jan-May 2004

The Syrian Rastan Company for Cement & Building Materials, located in Rastan in the western Syrian governorate of Homs, registered US$4.8m worth of sales for the first five months of 2004, it was reported on June 29, 2004.  The company produced over 53,000 tonnes of grey cement and about 7500 tonnes of oil-well cement in the period. Rastan produced cement to supply the local retail and wholesale dealer of construction materials Omran Corporation.  Rastan Company has already completed the renovation of some of its production units to boost the efficiency of the production process. The company also plans to renovate and modernise its cement mill, which is over 40 years old.
