The Yasuj Cement Factory with a production capacity of 700tpd of gray cement was inaugurated on May 16. Located 25 kilometers from Yasuj-Gachsaran road the inaugural ceremony was attended by the speaker of the Sixth Majlis Mahdi Karrubi and some provincial officials. The construction of this factory by domestic technicians and specialists is projected to save US$11m in foreign currency exchange per annum. The report added that the cost of establishing the factory was almost Rls.200 billion and 250 jobs are predicted to be created.  All the factory machinery has been imported from China and the volume of foreign exchange embodied in construction of the Yasuj factory is just US$14.7m.
