Gujarat Ambuja Cements Ltd (GACL) along with Ambuja Cement Eastern Ltd. and Ambuja Cement Rajasthan Ltd. has dispatched 13.24Mt of cement during April-March 2003-04 against 11.88Mt in the corresponding period last year, registering a growth of 11.4 per cent. This is a remarkable growth considering the fact that the growth of the cement industry during the same period is likely to be about five per cent, said Gujarat Ambuja adding that total industry dispatches are expected to be about 117Mt for the fiscal year 2003-04.
Clinker production by the Ambuja Group for the year 2003-04 was 11.4Mt as against 10.5Mt in the corresponding year, registering a growth of nine per cent. Dispatches for the month of March 2004 were at 1.24Mt as against 1.31Mt for the corresponding period last year, a decline of 5.34 per cent.
