In December 2003, cement production rose by 77.7 per cent compared with December 2002, to 512,000t  This was disclosed by the State Statistics Committee.  In 2003, cement production rose by 24.7 per cent compared with 2002, to 8,916,000t.  As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in November production of cement rose by 28.1 per cent compared with November 2002, to 645,000t.
In 2002, cement production increased by 23.5 per cent compared with 2001, to 7,142,000t.  Industry annual capacity is preently put at 20Mt.
