Savinsky Cement Works (Arkhangelsk Region) has made 700,000 tons of cement in 2003, 41 per cent up on year, according to Eurocement which controls the enterprise.  Cement output increased by over 40 per cent to 138,000t. The 2004 target is to make 1Mt, 77 per cent of the projected capacity of the works (1.3Mta).  Meanwhile Mikhailovcement, also part of the Eurocement holding company, produced 1.7Mt of cement in 2003, 272,000t more than in 2002.  Mikhailovcement products entered construction markets in the Moscow, Ryazan, Kaluga, Tula, Oryol and Vladimir regions. In 2004, production is to be increased to 1.78Mt.

Eurocement, Russia's biggest cement holding company, controls 20 per cent of the Russian and 60 per cent of the Moscow cement market. In 2003, the company made over 7Mt of cement. The company incorporates the Maltsovsky PortlandCement of the Bryansk region, Mikhailovcement of the Ryazan region, Lipetskcement and the Savinsky Cement Factory of the Arkhangelsk region, as well as concrete, asphalt concrete and mineral powder manufacturers, elevators and a transportation company.
