Egypt's cement output stood at 2.449Mt in September 2003, down from 2.739Mt in August 2003, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said.  Local cement sales stood at 2.371 million tonnes in September 2003, compared to 2.242Mt in August 2003, and 2.18Mt in July 2003. Egypt exported 763,000t of cement in September 2003, against 858,000t in August 2003 and 708,000t in July 2003.  Egypt's cement output stood at 22.309Mt in the first nine months of 2003. Local consumption totalled 20.503Mt in the period January to September 2003, while exports stood at 4.96Mt.
