Hazemag & EPR GmbH has been awarded an order by FLSmidth of Bethlehem, USA for the supply of a giant impact crusher for the processing of limestone, to be installed at the Obajana Cement Works in Nigeria. This cement works is part of the well-known Dangote Group, who are currently building a number of new cement works in Nigeria.

This huge impact crusher can handle limestone with a feed size of up to 1.5m edge length at a rate of 2000tph to produce a material 98 per cent minus 75mm. The patented cast steel rotor is 2.5m in diameter and 3.0m in width, and weighs 54,000kg and the blow bars weigh 1500kg each. The control of the impact aprons is effected by Hazemag‘s well-proven hydraulic control system, which means that despite the considerable weight of these components, the exact and fine adjustment of the gap between rotor and impact aprons is possible at the push of a button. The installed drive rating is 2400kW.

The raw material is fed to the impact crusher by means of a HAZEMAG heavy-duty apron conveyor with variable-speed drive. The dimensions of the apron feeder – 2.5m wide and 14.2m long - are also very impressive.
