KHD Humboldt Wedag AG upgrades CIMSA´s cement mill No 2

CIMSA Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret AS, Mersin, Turkey has awarded KHD Humboldt Wedag AG the contract to increase the capacity of the existing tube mill No 2. Current production of OPC amounts to 95tph and 125tph for another type of cement. Increase in capacity will be in the range of up to 160 per cent.

KHD´s scope of supply includes:

Roller Press RP 20-170/180

VSK‚ 112/28-4000 High Efficiency Separator and cyclones

ROLCOX‚ automation system.


The new system for drying and grinding of different feed materials (clinker, wet blast furnace slag and additives) operates in a semi-finish-grinding mode. Installation of the RP-/VSK‚- circuit can be realised with little shut down period and without disturbing the ongoing cement production. The contract includes engineering, supply of equipment and supervision of erection and commissioning. The new system is to start operation in 2005.
