South Africa: cement sales boom

In South Africa cement sales by volume soared by 22% YoY in January to 779,003t, data released by the Cement and Concrete Institute (CNCI) showed. 

January’s data is merely the latest in a string of strong YoY increases. The increase in the past five months (September to January) was 10.5% YoY with the November 2011 volumes of 1,141,248t the highest monthly total since 2008.
