FLSmidth wins orders for Cimpor projects in Brazil

FLSmidth has received contracts to provide two major cement projects for Cimpor in Brazil. The expansion plans include a brand new production unit in northwestern Brazil (the Caxitu project) and a new production line at Cimpor’s existing Cezarina plant in central-western Brazil.

When commissioned in 2013, the two projects will form an essential part of  Cimpor Cimentos do Brasil’s current 2.3Mta expansion programme. They will help to support Brazil’s growing economy and development of infrastructure and housing. Both projects will feature the latest pyro technology for burning and utilising waste fuels.

Greenfield unit at Caxitu

The Caxitu project is located in Paraiba state and will boost Cimpor’s existing capacity in this rapidly developing region. FLSmidth supplies to the 1.45Mta project comprise:
• Storages for raw materials, additives and petcoke
• ATOX™ raw materials grinding mill
• TIRAX™ coal grinding mill
• In-line calciner preheater system
• ROTAX-2™ kiln
•  SF Cross-Bar™ cooler
• Pollution control system

Additional line at Cezarina

The new line at the Cezarina plant, located in the Goiás province, will be number three at this site and will increase plant capacity by 0.65Mta. FLSmidth has contracted to supply a complete pyro line for this project comprising:
• ATOX™ raw materials grinding mill
• CF raw meal blending silo
• In-line calciner preheater system
• ROTAX-2™ kiln
• FLSmidth® Cross-Bar™ cooler and
• Pollution control system.
