India’s May output rises 13.5 per cent

India's cement production in May rose 13.5% on year to 16.2Mt, the Cement Manufacturers' Association said today.    

Cement output in May was 1.1% higher than 16.01Mt produced in the previous month.    

Cement despatches in May rose 14.5% YoY to 16.26Mt, the association said.    

Cement production during Apr-May, the first two months of 2012-13, rose 11.6% to 32.21Mt.    

India's cement production in 2011-12 had increased 6.3% to 179.79Mt.
