Preliminary data for the first six months of the year, show that domestic cement sales in Brazil reached 33Mt, representing an increase of 9.3 per cent over the same period of 2011.

However, sales for June 2012 were 5.3Mt, down 2.8 per cent on June 2011 figures.

Cumulative sales in the rolling 12 months (July 2011-June 2012) reached 66.Mt, an increase of 8.4% over the previous period (July 10 to June 2011).
