Bashundhara Cement introduces VRM technology to Bangladesh

Mayor of Khulna Talukdar Abdul Khaleque along with managing director of Bashundhara Group Sayem Sobhan and other guests inaugurated the Bashundhara Cement factory, on Monday, at a gala ceremony attended by national-level and local leaders.

While addressing the launching ceremony of Bashundhara Cement KCC mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque said that Bashundhara Group opened door of huge opportunity of employment for the people of the region especially Mongla.

"I express my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Bashundhara Group chairman Akbar Sobhan as he has opened the door of great opportunity for the people of Mongla by establishing the huge industrial complex," he said.

The KCC mayor said that other industrial entrepreneurs should come forward to start industrial production by following BG.

The company now has the biggest-ever vertical rolling mill in the country's cement industry. Chief advisor to Bashundhara Group chairman Mahaboob Morshed Hassan said that for the first time Bashundhara Group decided to produce vertical roller mill (VRM) technology cement in the country which is a milestone and revolution in the cement industry of the country.

"We hope that the price of the newly produced (Loesche) VRM technology enriched cement would be within the reach of the consumers as we always keep in mind the ability and desire of the people," he said.

Bashundhara Group became engaged in cement production in 1996, while for the first time ever in Bangladesh in 2000 it introduced composite cement into the market.
