Iran Daily has announced that some 69.457Mt of cement were produced domestically YoY from February 2012, showing an increase of 6.7 per cent compared to the figure for the same period before, which was 65.116Mt.

Iran produced some 65Mt or 1.7 per cent of world cement output in 2012 and ranked fifth in the world in this respect.

The secretary of the Guild Association of Cement Producers Abdolreza Sheikhan said earlier in February that some 58.622Mt of cement were produced in the country during the past 10 months, showing an increase of 4.6 per cent compared to the figure for the corresponding period of the preceding year.

About 58.636Mt of clinker were produced during the period, showing an increase of 4.4 per cent compared to the figure for the same period of the previous year.
