Gazakh Cement has officially opened its new production line in the presence of Ilham Aliyev, president of Azerbaijan.

The greenfield plant in Dash-Salahui village near Agstafa in the Gazakh region of northwest Azebaijan, involved the construction of a 2500tpd a clinker production line and will be able to produce 1Mta of cement. The cement producing facilities were completed in March this year enabling the start of trial tests which have proved successful.

CBMI (Sinoma) and Turkish SC Endustri are the main contractors for the plant which is owned by Akkord Industry Construction Investment Corp. The plant will have an 8km motorway connection as part of the Kazakh-Tbilsi highway.
