Dominican Republic inaugurates new plant

President Danilo Medina of the Dominican Republic has officially inaugurated Cementos Panam's (PANAM)  US$80m cement plant in San Pedro.

PANAM executive Manuel Estrella said the facility will create 800 direct and 2400 indirect jobs, and help boost sales for region’s goods and services.

The plant utilises state-of-the-art equipment to ensure that it complies with environmental standards.
