Pakistan-based company Alkitan has expressed interest to construct a new cement plant in Iraq, the Basra Investment Commission announced.
Shakir Ali, general director of Alkitan, said the company is interest in establishing cement factories in the Middle East and have chosen the province of Basra, Iraq, due to the abundant natural resources and investment opportunities. Ali added: “Our company intends to establish a cement plant in the province on an area of ??50 acres in the south.”
