Algeria’s Minister of Industry, SMEs and Investment Promotion, Cherif Rahmani, started off the construction of the second production line at the Ain El Kebira cement plant, north of Setif.
The new line, which has a clinker capacity of 6000tpd, is part of GICA’s drive to up state-owned production capacity by 26Mt by the end of 2016. When completed, in 33 months’ time, the extension will take output capacity at the site from 1Mta to 3Mta.
