The Chaudhary Group (CG) has started production from a new 1500tpd plant in Nepal.

Barun Chaudhary, director of CG, said the new Chinese-built plant can produce 250tpd of OPC and 1350tpd of PPC. The group plans to formally launch CG OPC next week, while CG PPC will follow a month later.

“We have identified places between Janakpur in the east to Darchula in the west as our potential market,” Chaudhary told Republica news.

Though CG Cement is procuring clinker from Nepali producer at present, it plans to produce clinker on its own in the near future. “We will begin extracting limestone from our mine in Palpa within a couple of years,” Chaudhary said, adding that the group would install a grinding plant in Palpa.

Due to power shortages, the company has been running diesel plant to operate the factory.
