26 March 2014

Lafarge’s Moroccan subsidiary Lafarge Ciments will be proposing a merger with Lafarge Bétons and Lafarge Granulats, its concrete and aggregates divisions at the company's next General Meeting.

"This will allow the deployment of an integrated development strategy of service offers and constructive solutions and, a stronger cooperation between the Group's various activities. It would also implement the synergies between the different business areas and improve the positioning and visibility of the Group to its customers and partners, " said the company in a press release.

In 2013, the Moroccan market saw sales increase as sales of added-value products and the development of a strong distribution network impacted positively. For 2014, the group expects market growth between 0-3 per cent in terms of volumes.
