Nyiragongo launched its first cement on 1 April 2014 during a ceremony presided over by the head of the provincial executive, Julien Paluku. This is first cement works to be situated in North Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo.

The project was initiated by Mr Tana Twagira and will have an initial output of 50tpd.
