Siam Cement Group, Thailand's largest industrial conglomerate, is set to construct a greenfield cement factory in Laos, president and chief executive Kan Trakulhoon, has revealed.

The Bangkok Post reported that the board of directors have approved a plan to build the works with a cement capacity of 1.8Mta. The new plant, to be located in Khammouane province, will become operational in the second quarter of 2017.
