The groundbreaking ceremony of a fully-equipped medical unit and parking complex was held at Lafarge Pakistan’s operations in Kallar Kahar, Chakwal district, earlier this week.
Among those in attendance were Philippe Thiébaud, Ambassador of France to Pakistan and Malik Tanveer Aslam Awan, Pakistan’s Minister for Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering.
“The medical unit aims to provide healthcare treatment in the area to the local villagers and surrounding villages within District Chakwal. The District currently lacks a decent level of healthcare facility and the local citizens have to travel miles to avail medical services’ said Amr Reda, Country CEO of Lafarge Pakistan Cement.
On behalf of the government of Punjab Mr Awan, said: “I thank and congratulate the ongoing initiatives by Lafarge Pakistan to serve the local community. The Medical Unit and Parking Complex will go a long way in contributing to the lives of the local community of District Chakwal’. ‘
