Brazilian monthly cement sales slip

Preliminary industry data and market estimates indicate that cement sales in the Brazilian domestic market in May 2014 reached 5.932Mt, down 0.7 per cent YoY, latest data from SNIC shows.

Sales for the period January-May 2014 reached 28.8Mt. Compared to the same period of 2013, showed growth of 2.8 per cent.

Cumulative sales in the last 12 months (June 2013 – May 2014) reached 70.7Mt, an increase of 3.1 per cent over the previous period (June 2012 - May 2013).
