Lafarge South Africa has announced that Kenneth MacLean has been appointed Country CEO, replacing Thierry Legrand who has taken up a new position at the Lafarge’s headquarters in Paris.

After being with Lafarge South Africa for five years. Mr Legrand’s is taking up the role of Senior Vice President (SVP) of Transformation and Acceleration. In his new position Mr Legrand, who has been with Lafarge for 20 years, will focus on developing innovation within the group.

Mr MacLean started with the company in 1987 and over the past 27 years has held a wide range of senior positions in Lafarge Canada and Lafarge North America. His position as Lafarge South Africa CEO is effective as of 1 August 2014.
 
“I am excited to be here in South Africa,” notes Mr MacLean. “This fascinating and vibrant country has always interested me. I am looking forward to the challenge of leading the company in the developing and highly competitive market.”
