Ambuja Cement has launched a new cement product, Ambuja Plus, in the state of Maharashtra, India. This innovative product is created with an advanced formula, offering additional strength than ordinary Portland cement, claims the company.

Ambuja Plus is aimed mainly at small consumers or individual house builders. MD and CEO Ajay Kapur said: “Ambuja Plus is special quality PPC [Portland Pozzolan] cement with advanced SPE technology that makes concrete stronger and easier to work with. It is packed in a special tamperproof bag which keeps moisture out and thus retains the freshness of cement for a longer time.”

“Today, we are not just introducing a product in the market," said Mr Kapur. "Our aim is to provide services for our esteemed customers that will be extended by the Customer Support Group (CSG)." Ambuja's CSG, comprising of expert civil engineers and technical advisors provide end to end, value added technical services at a nominal fee for contractors and customers who are building smaller houses for personal use.

Ambuja Cement has been a household name in Maharashtra where it first set up its integrated plant in 2002. Today, Ambuja produces 3.6Mta from its Maratha cement works at Chandrapur and a bulk commercial terminal at Panvel.

Meanwhile, OCL India Ltd has launched a special cement for concrete casting. Called Konark DSP cement, the product would be available in West Bengal at a premium over normal bags, OCL India said in a statement.
