Indonesia: PT Conch South Kalimantan cement plant on-stream
05 December 2014

PT Conch’s greenfield cement plant has come on-stream in South Kalimantan, Indonesia, with an installed capacity of 1.5Mta.

Construction of the factory began in 2012 and has involved an investment of US$202m. It has the capacity to produce 3200tpd.  The project is parent company Anhui Conch Cement's first cement plant in Indonesia.

The facility was built with a 36MW steam powered electric plant in a strategic location near the South Kalimantan-East Kalimantan highway, only 30km from Tanjung, the capital of the Tabalong regency.

Head of the Regional Development Planning Board of Tabalong, Erwan, said the construction of the factory was part of the previous regime’s program of Master Plan for Acceleration and Expansion of the Indonesian Economic Development (MP3EI). "The factory is expected to contribute to economic development in the region," Erwan said.
