Dalmia Cement Bharat Limited (DCBL) has entered the Jharkhand market in eastern India which it will serve through the 2.1Mta Bokaro cement plant.

Amandeep, business head and director of BoJCL said, "Bokaro cement plant is being benchmarked to global thresholds of manufacturing excellence in producing Portland Slag Cement (PSC) under Dalmia Cement brand name. Eastern India is a highly promising market with sufficient cement demand. With our state-of-the-art plant at Bokaro, we will ensure seamless cement delivery across Jharkhand, Bengal and Bihar."

At the start of this month, DCBL announced that it had acquired full control of the Bokaro works, having purchased the 26 per cent stake in the company it did not already own.

Besides Jharkhand, the brand will cater to neighbouring Bihar and Bengal. The base at Bokaro plant is an advantage for markets across Jharkhand, ensuring speedy delivery, the company added.

DCBL has strong foothold in the south, east and northeast India. It has holda a 48 per cent equity in OCL India Ltd. With a growing capacity, expected to reach 24Mta by the end of FY15.
