Cemex has confirmed an allocation of MXN1.20bn (US$71.27m) to social initiatives in Colombia.
The company stated that part of the resources were invested in infrastructure works and admitted that it celebrates frequent meetings with community representatives to determine its environmental and social responsibility projects according to their needs.
Cemex also holds an agreement with the international development cooperation society (SOCODEVI), which helps improve competitiveness of cocoa producers in Antioquia department.
