First Tajikistan cement heads to Afghanistan

Huaxin Gayur Cement Co Ltd, located in Yovon district of Khatlon province, Tajikistan, reportedly signed an agreement with Afghanistan’s Shamal Sharq in early December to supply 500t of cement to Afghanistan.

A convoy of 12 heavy trucks carrying 370t of cement proceeded via the Panji Poyon border crossing between the two countries in late December, according to Tajik Customs Service.

Huaxin Gayur Cement Co Ltd is a Tajik-Chinese joint venture established by Huaxin Zhongya Investment (Wuhan) Co Ltd, the subsidiary of Huaxin Cement, and Gayur Ltd Co. The Yovon cement plant only became operational in late September 2015 and produces two types of cement – M-400 and M-500.
