Domestic deliveries drive Vicem's 11-month sales rise

Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem), the country’s leading cement producer, sold 20.06Mt of cement and clinker in the first 11 months of 2015, up 2.9 per cent from a year earlier.

Of the volume, 16.99Mt of cement and clinker were sold in the domestic market, up 10.6 per cent YoY, and 3.07Mt were exported, down 39.6 per cent.

In November the corporation sold 1.91Mt of cement and clinker, up 13.6 per cent YoY, of which 1.63Mt were made up of local sales (+19.4 per cent YoY), while exports fell 21.2 per cent YoY to 273,000t.

The corporation produced 1.88Mt of cement in November, rising 10.6 per cent YoY, raising the corporation’s cement output in Jan-Nov to 16.62Mt. The corporation’s clinker output, meanwhile, fell 4.8 per cent YoY to 1.38Mt, resulting in the 11-month clinker output reaching 14.93Mt.
