Following the government’s decision to change the Federal Excise Duty (FED) mechanism from variable five per cent of Marginal Retail Price (MRP) to a fixed rate of PKR1/kg, PKR50/bag (US$0.48/bag), cement prices have increased by approximately PKR35 (US$0.33).
