Vietnam sees export value rise 19% in Jan-Jul 2016

Vietnam earned US$335.12m as it exported 8.97Mt of cement and clinker in the Jan-Jul 2016 period, up 18.8 per cent YoY in value, but down 6.2 per cent in terms of volume.

The Philippines, Bangladesh, Taiwan and Mozambique were key importers of Vietnamese clinker and cement in the first seven months of this year, according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The Philippines surpassed Bangladesh to become the largest importer of cement and clinker from Vietnam in terms of value, importing some 2.15Mt at a value US$99.28m, around 30 per cent of Vietnam’s total cement and clinker value.

Bangladesh followed with US$86.61m of exports as it received 2.9Mt, and Taiwan imported 573,883t (US$19.44m) with Mozambique ranking fourth with 651,165t (US$18.68m).
