India: land acquisition underway for 3Mta Jaykaycem plant

Jaykaycem (Central), an associate company of JK Organisation, is planning a 3Mta integrated cement plant near the villages of Devra, Puraina and Sotipura, Madhya Pradesh district, India.

The two phase project will consist of a 2.64Mta clinker section, plus the cement grinding plant and a 40MW captive power plant and a 15MW WHR-based power plant. Land acquisition is in progress and the project is waiting for environmental clearance.

The estimated cost of phase-I is INR27,743.4m (US$416.8m) and phase-II is INR28,126.1m (US$422.5m). The dry-process plant will produce ordinary Portland cement (OPC) and pozzolona Portland cement (PPC). The facility will use 30 per cent Indian coal and 70 per cent petcoke, while the power plant will be run on Indian sourced coal

The first phase  implementation period is 36 months and the second phase is envisaged to commence in three years after the completion/commencement of commercial production of the first phase.
