Building material imports (cement, iron and steel, wood and ceramic products) stood at US$1.61bn over the first nine months of 2016, against US$1.95bn in the same period in 2015, down -17.65 per cent, the Customs told Algerie Press Service.
Imported quantities shrunk to 7.95Mt against 8.14Mt , down -2.4 per cent, according to the Customs' National Centre for Data Processing and Statistics (CNIS).
Cement imports dropped to US$257.8m against US$352.9m, a fall of -27 per cent from 9M15. The imported quantities decreased to 3.98Mt against 4.83Mt in 9M15.
